Immigration Cafe is a public place to ask and answer questions about UK immigration. Anyone can read it, and anyone can post.

Before you post

• Nothing here is legal advice. Members of the public write most posts, and even answers from registered solicitors are general information. For your own case, speak to a regulated adviser.
• Do not post anything that identifies you or anyone else: full names, dates of birth, passport numbers, Home Office or UKVI references, addresses or phone numbers.
• Search first. Your question may already be answered.

Not allowed

• Abuse, threats, hate, harassment or discrimination.
• Anything illegal, including advice on deceiving the Home Office, fake documents or sham marriages.
• Offering paid immigration advice or services. In the UK only regulated advisers may do this, and it is a criminal offence for anyone else. Registered solicitors and IAA advisers are listed in the directory; advertising is only in the marked advert spaces.
• Spam, adverts in posts, links to unrelated sites, or posts not in English.

What happens

Posts appear straight away. Anyone can report a post with the Report link under it. We remove posts that break these rules, and may block people who keep breaking them. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@immigrationcafe.co.uk.
